Yvonne Hansen

Grade 3/4 Teacher

Hi, I’m Yvonne Hansen and I am excited to be joining the amazing team at Roots of Resilience. I am passionate about teaching and learning as well as Indigenous culture. My favourite subjects to teach are social, science, and art.

I graduated with my education degree from University of Calgary. While I became a teacher later than some, my background includes social work, working in group homes, driving school bus, and operating a private dayhome. I am looking forward to putting all of my experience to good use in the grade 3/4 classroom.

I am married with three daughters and our family moved to Drayton Valley six years ago from Strathmore. We love getting out into nature, but we also love a good movie night or even some family gaming time. I am excited to start this new journey with Roots of Resilience Charter School!
