Secretary Treasurer

I am a CPA CA who has worked in Education since 1995. I was a member of the Senior Executive Team for two school boards for over 15 years where I was directly responsible for the Finance, Transportation and Facilities departments.

For eight years prior to my retirement in September 2022, I worked with Alberta Education as a Director of Financial Reporting responsible for school board reporting and financial audits. My role with Alberta Education included providing operating and administrative advice to school authorities when working with government entities. Additional duties included internal reviews of school authority operations and working closely with the Minister and Deputy Minister regarding the establishment of the new rural insurance reciprocal. My detailed knowledge of government reporting requirements and understanding of school board operations regarding the needs of students and staff has been invaluable when working with school boards to develop operating, reporting and budgeting strategies.

Subsequent to my retirement in 2022, I have been working as a consultant for the Association of School Business Officials of Alberta and as Secretary Treasurer for a charter school board.

I am a father of two children who attended public school and now a grandfather with grandchildren in the public school system. This keeps me vested in the best interests of students in Alberta.
